Does acupuncture hurt?
In general, acupuncture should not hurt. Occasionally points where there is a great deal of inflammation may be sensitive. Qi sensations should be felt much more than the needle insertion itself.
(see What To Expect for more info on qi sensations)
What can acupuncture treat?
Because EAM works on a different philosophy than Western Biomedicine, most conditions can be treated with this system of medicine and it is difficult to create a comprehensive list. In the past I have treated a wide variety of conditions including musculoskeletal pain, emotional and autoimmune disorders, acute and chronic disease, gynecology and internal medicine. Please contact me to learn what acupuncture can do for your specific concern.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments necessary varies according to the patient, the condition, and the duration of the disease or condition. In general, you can expect to need approximately one treatment for every month that you have had a condition.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. Please contact me to verify your benefits.
